Key Federal facts

An Act to Amend the Holidays Act, S.C. 1980-81-82-83, c.124, changed the name of the holiday Dominion Day to Canada Day. This Act came in force October 27, 1982, on Royal Assent.

The national flag of Canada was proclaimed in force "upon, from and after" the 15th day of February, 1965.  See Canada Gazette, Part I, vol. XCIX, no. 7, p. 506.
